Ashwini Kalsekar is a both Big and small screen actress in India. She started her journey on the television show “Shanti” which was aired on DD National in 1994. About her filmy career, she debut from the Marathi film “Tula Jhapar La”. She is popular with the Historical drama show “Jodha Akbar” as Maham Anga which is telecasting on ZEE TV. Some of the super hit films acted by her are “Golmaal Returns”, “Rakht Charitra” and the Telgu Film “Badrinath”. Now she is on Ekta Kapoor’s show “Jodha Akbar”.
Personal Life: Ashwini was born to Mumbai, Moharastra on 22nd January 1970. Her father Anil Kalsekar was a Bank employee. After completed her B.A graduation from Mumbai, she joined Theater as her alternate career and trained under Muzammel Vakil and well trained in Kathak. Before married to Murli Sharma who is a versatile Character actor in Bollywood, she married to Nitesh Pande who is also a both Big and small screen actor. Ashwini and Nitesh spend four year together.
Career: Ashwini started her career as a theater Artist. Then moved to small screen and did her first show “Shanti” in 1995 which was aired on DD National. Then she did so many Television shows like Farz, Ek Aur Mohabharat ,Shaktiman, C.I.D, K Street Pali Hill, Sidhant, Kasamh Se, Achanak 37 Saal Baad, Jeete Hai Jiske Liye, Virrudh, Parrivaar, Anjaane, Kittie Party, Bairi Piya, Jhansi Ki Rani, Ganga Ki Dheej, Afsar Bitiya, Fu Bai Fu(Marathi Comedy Show) as judge.
About her Filmy career, she has done many super hit Bollywood films like “The Hero:Love Story Of A Spy” in 2003, “Khakee” and “Musafir” in 2004 . “Kisna”, “Ashiqn Banaya Aapne”and “Apaharan” in 2005 , “Ankahee” in 2006, “Johnny Gaddar” in 2007, “Golmaal Returns”and “Phoonk” in 2008 and “Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye”, “All The Best: Fun Begains” and“Ek Tho Chance” in 2009, “Phoonk 2”, “Rakht Charitra” and “Golmaal 3” in 2010 and “Singham Returns” in 2014.
Her other language films like “Tula Jhapar La” was a Marathi film in 1996. “Badrinath” in 2011 and “Nippu” in 2012 were the Telgu films of her acted films. Now she is on Ekta Kapoor’s Historical drama show “Jodha Akbar” as playing the role of Maham Anga.
Ashwini’s Character In Jodha Akbar: In the show of “Jodha Akbar”, she plays the role of Maham Anga who was the Caretaker and wet nurse of child Akbar. And was treated as own mother by the Akbar. She is also playing a silent negative character who wants to a safe position of her son Adham Khan(Chetan Hansraj).
Awards and Achievements: She got the awards as “Best Actress in the Negative Role” for the show Kasanh se from “Indian Telly Award” and “ITA Award”.
