Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat, a historical series tracing the life of Ashoka, will be launched on Colors soon. The show will encompass his life-altering journey — from his rise to power to his state of penance after the battle of Kalinga, which made him give up war to embrace Buddhism. What makes it all the more interesting is that the story has been penned by author Ashok Banker. Having written several books, he is making his comeback to television after nearly two decades.
There are many rumours that Shaheer Sheikh will be seen in this show as King Ashoka but nothing is finalized yet. We will informed lead actor of this show very soon.
Pallavi Subhash will be seen as Emperor Ashoka’s mother in the show. She was last seen in Saurabh Tiwari’s Mahabharata as Rukminni. Pallavi Subhash has performed in nearly a dozen Marathi films, TV serials, commercials, and plays. She has become popular for the roles of Gauri (protagonist) in Karam Apnaa Apnaa and Meera Khandelwal in Kasamh Se.
